This Monday morning is the 114th running of the Boston Marathon, the world's oldest annual marathon. You can watch the race on the internet at www.universalsports.com starting at 9:30AM. This year's race contains one of the deepest fields ever!
I hope you tune in to see why Boston is such a special marathon and why people work so hard to qualify just to get in, including myself...And not just for "The Girls of Wellesley College"! Boston is one of the only marathons you actually have to run a qualifying time to enter. 3 hours 15 minutes is the number for my age group.
Another reason to tune in is to watch American runners Ryan Hall and Meb Keflezighi. Meb won last year's New York Marathon and Ryan owns the fastest American half-marathon record and posted the fastest debut marathon by an American. Both of these guys seem like great people.
For those of you who are religious, you will especially like Ryan Hall who is extremely open about his beliefs. You can read a great article about him here: Ryan Hall: The Faith Interview.
The camprground we will be staying at Monday says they have Wi-Fi, so hopefully, I can catch the race.
