The results: 19:54, 10th overall and 1st in 35-39 age group. They had a good turnout of about 500 people.
Once I realized what the course was like and the runners around me, I decided to run a comfortable race to turn it into a nice workout. All the runners in front of me were all younger with nobody pressuring from behind so I wasn't worried about running a fast time which worked out well. The course was really fun to run! My only complaint of the event was the double loop through the trees which caused a lot of congestion on the 2nd loop as the faster runners caught up to the slower runners. Not only does it slow the faster runners down, but also stinks for the slower ones worrying about getting clobbered from behind. Most people don't know to stay to the right so people can pass so it was sometimes tough to navigate the course. I ended up running into the back of one guy who wasn't too pleased even though I was yelling that I was coming on the right. He walked right in my path. No, I wasn't channeling pushing the Chic-Fil-A Cow and I even apologized as I went by.
